Addie Weatherford,
Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

As an Intern, Addie (she/her/they/them) exclusively serves our clientele seeking cash-pay services on a pay-what-you-can sliding scale basis. Addie provides therapy to intimate partners, families, and individuals.

Whether through sharing recipes, seeds, or stories, Addie has always found themself drawn toward community care and building connection. As a child growing up in the Bronx, NY, Addie observed the myriad ways that folks from all over the globe found ways to join together to address systemic barriers to accessing education, health care, and safety - and she developed a reverence for thoughtful collective action. This early exposure to the vastness of human experience instilled within Addie a constant curiosity for the stories of others, and the forces that shaped who they are in the present. Throughout their work in kitchens, farm fields, classrooms, and farmers markets, Addie has always found a through-line in the profound healing impact of creating a nourishing connection with each other and with the natural world.

Addie draws from evidence-based, systems-oriented practices such as Narrative Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help individuals, families, and intimate partners find new language, stories, and tools to explore the challenges they face. Addie views therapy as an experiential and collaborative effort to bring forth the change the client wishes to see, wherein she is the facilitator walking alongside the client, who is the expert of their own experience. Addie is passionate about creating safety and space for authentic self-exploration in the therapeutic relationship.

Addie achieved a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Skidmore College, and is currently working on their Masters in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon.

In their free time, you can find Addie tending to their vegetable garden, tromping through the woods and parks around Eugene with her dog, cooking an elaborate meal with friends, or attending a swing dance class.
